Madison Beach Hotel Hosts A Taste of New Orleans Jazz Brunch

MADISON, Conn. – Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning boutique resort and chosen Hotel of the Year by Hilton, is hosting A Taste of New Orleans Jazz Brunch on Sunday, February 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This special event will feature the flavors of Fat Tuesday and live jazz by Rohn Lawrence and Friends, with special guest Tim Maia.

A native of New Haven, Connecticut, Lawrence has been playing guitar since the age of two-and-a-half. “My first instrument was a plastic Mickey Mouse guitar,” he admits, “on which my parents swear I was playing real songs.”

Performing in New Haven funk bands such as “Good News” and “The Lift” (which included renowned saxophonist Marion Meadows), Lawrence developed into a first-call axe man for several of the most active players on the contemporary music scene. He continues to perform with Meadows, while cultivating associations with other notables like George Duke, Diane Reeves, Jonathan Butler, Alex Bugñon, Freddie Jackson and Najee.
